Shake it, Matthew!

Unfortunately, when Matthew gets older he's going to kill me when he realizes all the embarassing things I've taped him do. Until then...Enjoy! It sure was funny!

Spring Break Crafts

So, we didn't do as much as I would have liked...but we got a couple crafts done. I'm thinking at least 2 or 3 more and I'll feel like Matthew wasn't cheated. :)
The first craft we did was his birdhouse...
Then we made Ethan's handprints into butterflies...
Matthew painted egg cartons to looks like tulips...
And then we made tulip handprints so I can remember their size in 10 years...
This one is my favorite!! I love love love it!!

St. Patrick's Day - 2009

I said I would post a couple pictures of St. Patrick's Day...here they are!

All dressed in green, of course!

Time for New Do's...

After dinner, Matthew and Babop put together some fancy paper airplanes.

Lo and behold...I even got a couple smiles out of Eli. This is a rare treat for me!! :)

Big Muscles on Bannock!

Baths are sooo much fun!

Crazy Craft Day

A Chef Hat...Entertaining!

The boys got a new chef hat from a friend, Leslie, at The Manor. What do two little kids do when they get a new chef hat?? They play kitchen ALL DAY! We have two hats, but I'm not sure where the other has been stashed!

LoLo's Leftovers...

When Bryan's parents to town for Ethan's birthday, his mom did some serious cooking! She froze some homemade meatballs and sauce...which everyone loves here! Well, I didn't feel like cooking...so LoLo cooked. In a sense. :)

Around the House...

Some people (Katie) have asked to see pictures of the house. It's slowly, but surely, becoming our own. It still has a feel of my parents, but a little paint goes a long way. As soon as I become more confident with my painting, I'll let you all know if that feeling is gone or not. :) I'm going to attempt to paint the bathroom cabinet first to see how it goes...I've been dying to get my grubby paws on these cabinets for YEARS!!
Anyhow, here is the kitchen..

A view from the kitchen into the laundry room...
This is my 'asparagus' laundry room...complete with white 'faux' blinds (which hubby hung up for me!). I'm adding some black and white polka dot curtains...but those have to be sewn!!
Here is Ethan's room...NOTHING has been done in here. This is going to be my summer project. Stay tuned!! It was real cute when my parents lived here. They used this as their 'travel' room and office. It doesn't work so well for little boys, but he doesn't care...so neither do we! For now.

Matthew's room
We picked some more 'tween' things this time around, since we won't be redecorating anytime soon! He loves his licsence plate map and orange lamps. Those are my favorites, too!!

His room is still a work in progress...We have to get him a full sized bed and finish his desk and stool. (Once I finish that, it will go under the small window...I just have to decide on the color. Brown? Orange? Blue? Black?? So many choices!)

Bathroom Redo Begins~

This will be my very first attempt at painting cabinets. I'm not sure how these will turn out, but I'm going to keep my fingers crossed. If these work, I'll be moving on to bigger and better things. Matthew helped me remove the hardware tonight, tomorrow the sanding will begin!

He's so darn cute!!

POOF. They are gone. My things are exposed! This...not so cute!

I need your help...

I'm at a loss. This is a minor issue in the house, just one of the many things on my 'wish' list. However, I'd like to do SOMETHING with this railing and the wall it runs up to. Should I paint it black and just leave it alone?? Should I replace the whole thing and do a wrought iron railing? Or should I do both, paint the top and bottom, but replace the posts with wrought iron...Hmmmm...

I'm in love...

Either I have to learn how to make this wreath...or I'm going to have to save the $85 to buy it. I don't know what it is about ETSY.COM, but I can't stop looking! Hmm...I think it may just be easier to save a couple dollars and buy it!
P.S. Bryan, if you are reading this...I'll take EITHER one!

Happy St. Patrick's Day - 2009

More pictures coming soon...In the meantime, here are two videos from our family festivities! :)

The Field Museum

We decided that since this would by my last 'free' weekend before more classes start again, we would take the kids to The Field Museum to see the Pirate exhibit. There was a lot to read and a lot of walking. Ethan wasn't too impressed with anything except the hall of animals...Matthew loved the Mummies and of course, the Pirates.
