I love tulips...

Everyone knows that I love tulips. It must be the Dutch in me! I found these pictures today that made me want to rush right out and pick up a couple bouquets of tulips and imagine I was in the Netherlands, RIGHT NOW! These are actual tulip fields in the Netherlands. I'm in love!

Banned.

We went to dinner at the Anvil Club on Sunday with my parents. This restaraunt only allows kids 6 and over on Sundays. They allowed Ethan, "just this one time." However, once you see the pictures you'll realize why kids aren't allowed and why we probably won't be invited back. :) The boys were in rare form! As usual.

Yes, Ethan wore this for a long time at the table. Go figure that Matthew had to get in on the act, too!

And then my mom...laughing at us laughing. This picture had us in tears!!
*I told you, Mom...I was going to post this!*

Clean. Again.

There is just something about clean, little boys in matching pajamas. I love 'em! The fact that they still give mom a couple minutes of 'posing' makes me love them even more!

I Dig Chicks.

No. Not that way. I dig roasted chick peas...BIG TIME. These are the tastiest, little crunchy snacks I've had in a long time. I do wonder what the calorie count is...I found the recipe at this website. She's got an adorable blog!

I sense desperation!

Desperation for the single lady...
And desperation for the busy housewife.
Though this I could use! :)

Coolest. Ever.

Could a calendar ever get any cooler than this?
It's bubblewrap!

Easter Chorus Boy

I'm so glad to see my tuition is paying off! Matthew entertained me with a couple songs he learned in kindergarten that he'd be able to sing on Good Friday. He's so cute!

Ethan Knows.

He's been obsessed with drinking from the toilet. So, when asked, he replied that Mommy always says, "No, PEE PEE!" (That's what he meant by that!) Matthew always tells him "No Legos." In Ethan's language he calls Legos: LeeGokes. Just a heads up!! :)

The video is self-explanatory. Don't judge.

Easter 2009

What a beautiful day to celebrate Easter...and what good looking kids I've been blessed with. Wouldn't you agree?
Ethan and his great-grandpa, Old Paw Paw
Babop and Nonny (Taken by Ethan)The boys in front of the Anvil Club...looking dashing.
The Family
After brunch...
The cousins...Ethan, Matthew and Eli.
Finally at Nonny's...finding Easter eggs.
Matthew was thrilled with the eggs he found.

Clean.

I love these boys right after a bath...the smell of baby lotion is the best.
We grew 'cat grass' and let's just say...it took only 3 days for it to grow this much. Matthew was insistent that he sample the grass...and he actually enjoyed it. (So he says.)

Happy Birthday, MOM!!

We celebrated my mom's birthday last night at Kiku's, a local Japanese restaurant. Good food, good wine and good company. We all had a good time and my mom brought home some good loot! Happy birthday, Mom!! We love you!!

Dinner

Herb crusted chicken...YUM! This was served with sauteed zucchini and garlic mashed potatoes. It was a hit!

Though this picture makes dinner look less than appetizing!

CHOP

When the ice storm hit, we lost a big tree in the backyard. The tree was a blessing because it hid all the trash in the neighbor's yards. My dad came over with his new power tool, a chain saw, and cut it down. That corner certainly looks different. Matthew thought he had a whole new climbing toy with the branches scattered everywhere!

GREEN

In an attempt to have some home grown produce, we are planting a garden! We got the seeds started yesterday. I should have taken a picture of the process, but I had to pretty much do it myself. What a mess...and in the middle of the kitchen floor. But...we have them started. I can't wait to see how this actually all goes. Matthew can't wait for the Carnival Carrots...supposedly they grow in different colors, red, purple, green, etc. We will see.

Word Families - Uh Oh!

We were going to work on some writing and reading stuff today...just so I could turn off the TV and the Wii. Well, things were going well once I offered a jelly bean for each word he could write in each family. We started with the -it family. Can you tell where I'm going with this?! He was getting so excited that he had earned so many jelly beans already...BUT...check out his list. I know it happens a lot at the school I work at, but I just wasn't prepared to have my own son do it! Oh my...
So the question is...Does he earn jelly beans for that word???

Matthew at 7

I asked Matthew these questions and wrote exactly what he said...Quite interesting! He's so sweet...
