Party Time

I have an 8 year old. It feels weird to say that.
It is a bittersweet moment. We decided to have a very low key birthday this year and I am so glad that we did. Matthew had his first sleep over and picked a few friends to come over. They were so well behaved and I'm certain that Mathew will remember this party for a long time.

The boys, Ethan included, used toilet paper to make themselves into mummies. Ethan's shirt was PERFECT for this game! (Thanks, Stacy!)

In love...

I'm in love with a cleaning product.
I bet my mother never thought she'd hear that.
I couldn't stop cleaning my kitchen counters last night.
The smell is amazing.
Run. Don't walk to Wal-Mart and pick up Mrs. Meyer's Basil Countertop spray.
WOW.
You won't be disappointed!!

P.S. Wal-Mart currently has a $1.00 off coupon tied around the bottles. :)

Goebberts 2010 - Take 1

The weather was perfect.

The pumpkin patch, however, was a major disappointment!

It's partially our fault. We went on a beautiful Sunday night. We didn't buy a single thing. The lines were long, the kids were ornery and I was irritated with the stupid people who can't stay out of my pictures. Please don't stand in front of my camera to yell at the gaggle of children you brought along while your wife carries the 18 decorative gourds, taking pictures of herself in Scooby's car, while my kids patiently wait their turn to stand in Scooby Doo's car…even though we were there first. Get a clue. Use your manners.

On a more positive note, we did take some pictures, even though their eyes are either closed or focused on a plane pulling an advertisement overhead. Bryan and I had several laughs. The sightseeing was quite entertaining!! I think there is a 'redo' trip in the coming days. We can't let that be our pumpkin patch memory for 2010.

Let's begin the tour...This is the best picture of the day. I can't be picky, I suppose.Do you notice the sour face?! Yep. Pouting. Made for even more fun! Probably didn't help that we waited for at least 15 minutes to take THIS picture! Ya gotta be quicker, hun! That's why your picture turned out AWESOME! Mine...didn't. Between the little hillbillies jumping into my picture and the plane in the sky, my boys were VERY distracted. Ok. Boys. Smile. Just once. Just for your mother...while she laughs at how annoyed her children and husband have become! Like I said...maybe next time will be better. Maybe next time we'll get some apple cider donuts and a pumpkin or two. Maybe.

Hey Mom! Wanna go with us?!

The Family

My mom got to entertain some wonderful family this weekend. My grandma's sisters and my mom's cousins came to town! What a great time! These ladies know how to laugh and to make me laugh! It's the times when I see them together that I miss my Aunt Corky! She was the wildest of the group and a lot like me! I see little bits of her in each of these four women!

See what I mean...How can you not laugh when Aunt Nettie is around?!
I even love that they each left a tip for my mom's hard work.
Yep. Everyone left a penny.
At least she's worth something, right!?
I love 'em all. It's nice to know that there is family that LOVES you no matter what, love you for you, support you and most of all laugh with you...even at you!
I'm blessed to have family like that.
I'm blessed to have a lot of people who love me.
I'm thankful for all of them.
You know who you are!

From where I'm sitting...

Tonight feels good. The boys are asleep. The house is clean...I didn't say spotless, Mom. There is minimal laundry. I've got on my tube socks (which I LOVE in the fall and winter for lounging on the couch) and polka dotted flannel pjs. Pumpkin candle is making the house smell delish and a big iced tea!! I love nights like this!
From where I'm sitting, life is good.
Tonight anyway. ;)

Lotsa Leaves.

Remember when I mentioned that we tease?!
My mom teases, too.
Apparently, the boys really like it after all.
They especially liked getting a hold of Babop's leaf blower.

I think my mom liked playing with it more than the boys!!

Fall.
