Geocaching.

Another one of my bright ideas.
I've heard about geocaching online and realized I had to take the boys to try.
The catch?
I need the husband to oblige since he had the iPhone with the app.
After some gentle urging, we went out to see what this was all about.
We found a cache close to the house just to see what was in it...
Matthew found it!!
We realized the 'treasures' were not really high quality, so we went home and picked our own treasures to add to the caches and change clothes. We were back on the road to hunt some more. The boys LOVED it and I must admit...SO DID I! Even the husband liked it.

On our last stop, Matthew found this slug. Ethan remembered the banana slug in California, and thought we had another one! Nah, this is just a nasty midwest slug...but fun to check out on our hike. :)

50 Years

A day at the farm is good for little boys with lots of energy.
We spent the day with my dad's side of the family to celebrate his aunt and uncle's 50th wedding anniversary. Their daughter lives on a farm and BOY OH BOY did my kids eat up that lifestyle. Lots of tadpole catching, bubble making, tractor riding, cow watching, laughing, running, and just plain living! Thank you Julie and Dick for a very memorable day!!
Ethan's Audience...those cows sure were curious about the city kid!
Tractor rides from Julie -- The boys LOVED this!!
Jell-O with my grandma!! :)
You know what's neat about this picture?? There are 106 years of marriage between them! That's not something you see anymore these days. Forget L.O.V.E!! That's determination!!
Congratulations, Uncle Donny and Aunt Ruth!
Congratulations, Blue and Old!
*Their 57th anniversary is in 3 days!*

Whew.

We made it. We survived instructional baseball. We learned a lot about this season, too.
1. Matthew still hasn't got the attention span needed to play the outfield.
2. Kids this age all act the same way with each other.
3. Boys are weird.
4. Matthew doesn't want to play sports where he sweats.
5. Matthew's got a GREAT arm when he wants to.
6. Matthew's got a GREAT swing when he wants to.
7. Matthew plays well when he wants to.
8. Boys are weird.
9. Boys have more fun playing in the dugout during the game instead of playing in the game.
10. Matthew looks ADORABLE in his uniform and he LOVED getting a trophy!

Just for fun...

I have lots of family and friends that might find this fun. I already signed the boys up to hear from Woody, of course. :) I can't wait to see their reactions.

Berry Pickin'

What a BEE-U-TI-FUL day for berry picking. The boys got to run through endless rows of strawberries and eat till their heart's content.
